My favorite character in Romeo+Juliet:
Perhaps it is represented many years after the original one, with little changes in the characters and their weapons, but the dialogue in “Romeo + Juliet” (1996) is still the same.
My favorite character is Tybalt because I think he really plays the antagonist character like should be. When I read the book, I imagined Tybalt really different comparing the Tybalt that appears in the movie. The last one is really annoying and you know immediately that he will do anything to get and make troubles.
In “Romeo + Juliet” the first time you see Tybalt, you know that he is the bad guy. The way he walks looks like a really self-confident person, the sound he makes with his shoes means that he want to be seen by other people. You know that he is the bad guy because of his way of looking, his mad/evil eyes, and of course the haircut and his bear help too.
The clothes of Tybalt are violent colors, red shirt and black suit. This means that this character is well defined; he doesn’t contradict his personality with his actions. So that’s why I said before that I think this character was well modified for his new representation, and not like Mercutio that looks gay and fool.
The conclusion of my essay is that it is not maybe my favorite movie, the characters are not well defined and if they are, they have a lot of changes and maybe are not like the originals. Tybalt has his changes too, but I think those changes made him a better character and a really trouble maker and not just the guy that is killed by Romeo.
